Big T and I have been working up North with this great architect and builder for over a year now, designing our new home on Lake Michigan. Friends, the time has finally come to break ground.
Step 1 is to move our cabin further into the woods, so the new house can take her old spot on the water...
which reminds me so much of this beloved classic that was one of our favorites.
Here she is in her new spot. Once we put her porches back on, she will be as good as new. We are hoping for lots of guests (and grandchildren!) to fill her up.
Big T bought this lot as a surprise for me 7 years ago, always intending to move the cabin into the woods and build a bigger family home on the water. But tuitions were due and weddings needed funding...and then I got cancer. That is when Big T said we are done waiting and it is time to get busy living....and building!
